19 Years in the Trenches: How a Fiber Engineer’s Journey with Light Can Fix Your FTTH Supply Chain

There wasn’t a grand plan at first – just curiosity, and a single strand of light.

In 2004, I left my hometown – Liuyang, a small city known for fireworks and boarded a 10-hour train to Shenzhen. It was my first time travelling so far. I had just graduated from technical school, with a background in computer and office skills, and hoped to find an office job in the big city.

Soon, I landed a job as a quality department assistant in a metal enclosure factory. I had no idea what IPQC, FQC, or technical drawings meant. But I was curious. I taught myself CAD and later took classes in 3D modelling. Watching a Pro/E model rotate freely under my mouse felt like magic. That’s how I fell in love with making things.

Over 19 Years, from the Workshop to Global FTTH Projects

I moved into a product engineer role in a fiber telecommunication product company. When international clients visited, my interest in English reignited. I enrolled in evening classes to improve my communication skills.

That decision opened the door to a new chapter. I became an international technical support engineer and, from 2011 to 2025, I worked with global FTTH giants – Alcatel-Lucent, ZTE, Draka, Ericsson – supporting real deployments, solving product issues, and handling field feedback.

These weren’t just technical lessons. They were real-world insights into what FTTH projects truly need:
Not just a good product, but the right support, at the right time, from someone who understands the whole solution.

The Birth of HiFTTH

In 2023, HiFTTH was founded.

Not just to sell fiber optic components – but to stand in the customer’s shoes and solve real project problems:

  • You’re under pressure to cut costs without compromising quality.
  • You need to deliver on tight deadlines with minimal margin for error.
  • You’re sourcing from multiple places, wasting time and energy.
  • And you wish there was just one partner who gets it.

That’s why HiFTTH exists.

We’ve been on both sides of the table – engineering, support, procurement, and delivery. We understand the headaches. And we designed HiFTTH to remove them.

HiFTTH means more than a company. It’s our way of saying Hi to FTTH – every single time.
A reminder to stay passionate about what we do and who we serve.

What Our Logo Represents

Take a look at our logo.
It’s more than a cube.

It’s built from three blocks – representing our clients, our suppliers, and ourselves.
From the outside, they appear separate. But look deeper: the black lines connect within, forming a triangle – a symbol of unity and mutual reliance.

From another angle, it spins like a windmill – a metaphor for momentum, direction, and endless energy.

“HiFTTH” in English reminds us to stay engaged with Fiber to the Home.
In Chinese, it symbolizes a small sailboat setting out across the ocean – delivering fiber to every corner of the world.

That’s how we see ourselves: small but agile, steady but full of ambition.
Sailing toward the future, together.

What’s Next?

We believe fiber shouldn’t be complicated.

Our mission is to make it faster, more affordable, and easier to deploy – for ISPs, contractors, and fiber builders around the world.

So if you’re trying to simplify your sourcing, lower your costs, or finally find a supplier who listens – maybe we’re the little sailboat you’ve been waiting for.
